HYDRAULIC PRESS-MACHINE TOOL OIL FILTRATION SYSTEMS

- Hydraulic Presses

- Plastic Injection Moulds

- Extrusion Presses

- Machine Tools

Every hydraulic machine DOES HAVE an OEM installed filter. These filters' filtration capacity are usually 10 micron or coarser due to large flow rates required by large capacity actuators like rams/cylinders. Pumps and valves are to handle pressures over 300 bars. So, clearances are very tightly machined, SURELY under 10 microns.

PARTICLES UNDER 10 MICRON can get into these clearances and accelerate wear. The oil contaminated over allowed ISO/NAS level becomes abrasive as opposed to being friction-eliminator as it is supposed to be.

DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE PROBLEM FORCES YOU TO ACT

These equipment are expensive and need to be operative, when they fail, repair and replacement are too costly, their down time will cost loss of production.

Hydraulic equipment such as piston/wane/internal gear pumps, directinal/servo/proportional valves, and hydraulic cylinders are expected to produce/handle high volume of oil under high pressure. Therefore, oil cleanliness is vital.

 HOW TO APPLY

1- MOBILE FILTRATION UNITS

A mobile filtration device can be used alternately to clean these machines. The filtration unit can be used while the machine-tool is operating. Optimal time to filter each machine must be considered to effectively clean each machine..

2- ON-BOARD BY-PASS APPLICATION

For machine-tools/presses that are critical and expensive to buy/maintain/repair, it is advisable to have dedicated filters for each machine. This method is more relaible and cost effective as the oil will be cleaned all the time.

Dirty oil samples and their filtered appearences

Large hydraulic presses are powerful machines that use high volume of oil and operate under high pressure The hydraulic press manufacturers require that even new oil be filtered with 2 micron filters before filled. Injection molders and extrusion presses must use clean oil due to vulnerability of their pumps to dirt This filtration unit has water absorbant to clean and dry oil spilled on the floor. Spilled oil recovered already pays back its investment

About 80% of hydraulic system and pump failures are due to particle contamination. Fine particles that can not be filtered by OEM installed filters will enter the operating clearances and accelerate wear. Contamination will increase viscosity and cause the oil to work at high temperatures. Temperature will result in high TAN number and additive depletion.

IMPORTANT:

1- New Oil IS NOT Clean; New oil from drum is generally dirty at NAS 9-10 (at pump and valve contamination limit). Manufacturers and hydraulic experts advise their customers/end users to filter oil with a 2-3 micron filter before filling the system. Dirty oil beyond manufacturers' reccommendations will terminate product warranty

2- You can not drain all the oil from system: In hydraulic systems, considerable part of the oil will stay in the system (cylinders, hoses and tubing). Remaining dirty oil will mix with new oil which is not already as clean as specified.

  YOUR ADVANTAGES

- Hydraulic oil life  will be extender (because the oil is usually drained due to contamination before it is depleted chemically/physically)

- OEM filter element life will be increased 3-4 times (fine filters will keep the oil ultra clean all the time which will reduce contaminant load of the OEM filters.

- Hydraulic system failures will be drastically reduced (80% of the system/pump failures are due to contamination)

- Wear on bearings, pumps, valves and cylinders will be minimised.
